(San Antonio) – In just a few short years, the Baptist Medical Network (BMN) has grown from a few physician practices into one of the largest healthcare providers in South Texas. The network now employs more than 220 physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners in a wide variety of primary and specialty care, all of whom support patients with their vast knowledge and experience.

“Our goal is to be a critical part of our larger Baptist Health System network, connecting people of all ages, genders, ethnicities and walks of life to the care they need, where and when they need it,” said Steve Lara, Baptist Medical Network CEO. “We have worked hard to bring more primary and specialty care physician services to our area to help meet the need for more healthcare resources here. And we are pleased that we have been able to attract so many talented, skilled, and knowledgeable physicians to the Baptist Medical Network.”

With 40 practices, more than 100 locations, in 17 communities, and across 12 counties, Baptist Medical Network providers cared for some 607,000 patients in 2022.

“Baptist Medical Network extends the network of care we offer to San Antonio and surrounding communities,” said Matt Stone, Baptist Health System Group CEO. “Our physician practices work in collaboration with our six acute care hospitals, Westover Baptist Hospital coming online in the next year, our eight Baptist Neighborhood Hospitals, our imaging and rehabilitation centers, to provide a safety net of care that is available no matter where you live or work in South Texas.”

Conditions treated include aortic aneurysm, arrhythmia, carotid artery disease, congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart attack, heart failure, heart valve disease, peripheral vascular disease, and structural heart disease.

When a child is experiencing a severe traumatic or chronic health condition, BMN accredited Pediatric sub-specialists align with the pediatric services of Baptist Children’s Hospital at North Central Baptist. Board-certified pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric nephrology, endocrinology, and pediatric infectious diseases are among the conditions our pediatric specialists offer children and families in our community.

Surgical services provided by the Baptist Medical Network include both general and specialized surgery offered via a variety of advanced techniques, including minimally invasive procedures and robotic-assisted surgery. In addition to general surgery, areas of specialty include bariatrics, orthopedics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, colorectal, oncological, and urological surgical procedures.

From adolescence through the childbearing years, menopause and beyond, BMN has providers who meet the unique healthcare needs of women at every stage of life.
