Keith D. Bruce, M.Div., D.Min.
Vice President, Mission and Ministry, Baptist Health System
He provides administrative leadership for the system’s pastoral care ministries, clinical pastoral education program, medical ethics consultation, bereavement services and volunteer program. Keith also fosters the relationship between Baptist Health System and Texas Baptists (Baptist General Convention of Texas), as well as with other faith congregations, not for profit agencies, and community service organizations. He develops and maintains programs that strengthen the spiritual well-being of Baptist Health System employees and physicians, and helps facilitate community-focused ministries and partnerships for the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities in greater San Antonio. His office also supports and encourages involvement of Baptist Health System associates in community service projects such as United Way.
Keith came to Baptist Health System with strong experience as an administrator, educator and pastor. His most recent position had been as executive director of Breckenridge Village of Tyler, a residential campus for adults with developmental disabilities, affiliated with Baptist Child and Family Services. Previous to that, he had served as an adjunct instructor with Dallas Baptist University, director of institutional relations with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, and as pastor of several Baptist churches in Texas and Oklahoma.
Born and raised in Texas, Keith earned his bachelor of arts degree from Baylor University with a major in business administration and a minor in religion. He earned his master of divinity degree and later his doctor of ministry degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
