George Fuentes
United States Navy Veteran
Tenet Healthcare, Area Recruiter for Baptist Health System
Prior to joining the Baptist Health System as a recruiter, George Fuentes was a United States Navy Logistics Specialist Seaman (e-3). He served eight years and worked his way up to Logistics Specialist Petty Officer 2nd Class (E-5) with an Aviation Warfare Specialty on the Lockheed Martin P-3 Orion/Boeing P-8 Poseidon Platforms respectively.
He worked two years on shore duty in the Aviation Support Detachment community in support of level II H-60 Seahawk aircraft support site for squadrons operating at Naval Station Mayport to include direct logistical support to porting/homeporting vessels. In 2009, he was awarded Sailor of the Quarter.
Soon after, he received an assignment to a Patron Surveillance Patrol Squadron in Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida for the rest of his military tenure. He participated in many global and domestic field exercises, current event hospitality, wartime and maritime events and personally assisted the Aviation Support Detachment community locally and overseas in Japan, Italy, and Scotland.
George says, "one significant thing that was learned when transitioning back to the civilian world and navigating my career externally is that 'resiliency, consistency and the will/determination to succeed will shape and mold the future to come for you.'"
He has found that his career with Baptist Health System touch on each of these attributes and he believes the lessons he learned in the Navy help him maximize his potential every day.
We're honored to have George on our team and are grateful for both his experience as a Navy Seaman and his service to our country.
